Density meter " in the field" for solid substances

This density meter was used during a field expedition to determine the density of rocks in a simple way. The density of an object is related to the weight of water of the same volume. First, therefore, the weight of the rocks is determined by using the balance and the separate weights. Then the reservoir is filled with water and the weight of the rocks in water is measured. Then, based on the measurement results, the density of the rocks can be calculated.
