In 1783 - one year before Teylers Museum opened its doors - a long held dream came true; people could fly! The invention of the balloon by the Montgolfier brothers inspired scientists, adventureres and artists. You could say there was a real balloon-craze going on back in those days. 

Sailing in a hot air balloon

Would you like to have that special balloon-fyling-feeling without leaving ground? Come and visit this family exhibition and go on a virtual reality balloon flight over the Alps! (not suitable for people with verigo). The departuretimes can be found below. Please note that there is a limited number of flights available per day.

The maximum flight time is 5 minutes. When it's busy you can pull a number and just go and see the exhibition until it's your turn.
