Help to preserve our unique history and rich traditions

Donations

Are you someone who wants to be actively involved in the preservation of our cultural heritage? With your donation, you can help to ensure that the unique history and rich traditions of Teylers Museum are preserved for future generations. With your donation, fund, or bequest, you will be making an essential contribution to Teylers Museum. Every contribution is welcome!

Making a gift

The Teylers Museum Friends' Fund is the supporting foundation of Teylers Museum, in which all contributions received from Friends, periodic donors and other patrons are deposited. Gifts may be one-off or periodic. Every donation is welcome! The Teylers Museum Friends' Fund has the status of a cultural public benefit organisation (ANBI). This means that you can take maximum advantage of the fiscal benefits as laid down in the Gift and Inheritance Tax Act. In order to include your gift as a tax deduction in your income tax return, your periodic gift must be formally recorded in writing for a period of five years or more. Do you want to make a donation? We will be happy to provide assistance.

Periodic Donations

Special Friends, Sky Watchers, and members of the Lorentz Circle like to give structural support to Teylers Museum, and do so by donating a fixed periodic gift to the Teylers Museum Friends' Fund.

Since 1 January 2014, it has been possible to lay down your periodic gift in a written Gift Agreement between you and Teylers Museum Friends' Fund. This means that there is no need to draw up a notarial deed. You can download this Gift Agreement here. Would you prefer to receive more information first, or would you like to make an appointment for a personal meeting? Please contact us at tel. +31 (0)23 516 0984 or

One-off gift

Perhaps you do not want to become a 'Teylers Friend', but you would like to make a one-off gift? We would naturally be happy to discuss the matter with you: perhaps you wish to make a donation for a specific purpose. Donations to the museum are placed in the Teylers Museum Friends' Fund. Perhaps you would like to know the Fund's details. They are:

Fund in your Name

Perhaps there is something in which you take a particular interest, and you want your gift to be used for this purpose. If you wish, you can set up a fund in your own name. There are two ways of doing this: you can do it during your lifetime, by donating a sum of money as a gift, or after your death, by including a testamentary disposition for the setting up of a fund in your will.

Bequests

Some people view leaving a bequest in the form of a sum of money or an artwork as an excellent way of supporting the museum. Thanks to a special tax regime, it has become attractive for private individuals to donate an object to Teylers Museum after death. A testamentary disposition or bequest can often be added to the will by one's own notary.

ANBI Status

Teylers Museum and the supporting foundation Teylers Museum Friends' Fund both possess the status of cultural public benefit organisations (ANBI). This means that no inheritance or gift tax is payable over bequests or gifts. Every euro of your contribution benefits the museum.

Here are the documents relating to our ANBI status
