Visitors with a Disability — Teylers Museum

Visitors with a Disability

The museum is accessible to visitors with a disability. There are two push wheelchairs available. Mobility scooters are not allowed in the building for safety reasons.

Visitors who are confined to a wheelchair can ring the bell at the entrance of Teylers Shop, Spaarne 18, to the left of the main entrance. There is an elevator available to visit the first floor (here are the auditorium and library located). The car park De Appelaar, close to the museum, has designated disabled parking spaces.

Any visitor who is unable to move around the museum independently may bring one companion for assistance, free of charge. You can reserve tickets by contacting us at

The museum has a wheelchair accessible toilet. Unfortunately, our educational room (where workshops are also given) is not accessible by elevator. To visit the Pieter Teylers House from the museum you have to go down a few steps, there is also the possibility to visit the ground floor of the house via Damstraat.
